Josh Goodwin
Captain Josh Goodwin began his fire service career in 2007 after completing the Firefighter I and EMT-Basic programs at Sinclair Community College. That same year, he joined the Madison Township Fire Department, where he has proudly served in both volunteer and part-time roles.
Over the course of his career, Captain Goodwin has advanced through the ranks, being promoted to Lieutenant in November 2013 and to Captain in July 2022. His dedication to training and leadership development is evident through his completion of the EMT-Intermediate program at Butler Tech in 2016 and his Fire Safety Inspector certification through the Colerain Fire Department in 2017. He is currently preparing to complete the Fire Officer I & II programs.
In addition to his service with the fire department, Captain Goodwin works full-time as a Standards Engineer at Dayton Progress, bringing strong technical and problem-solving skills to the manufacturing industry.
He is a 1996 graduate of Carlisle High School and resides in Madison Township with his wife, Amanda, on their small farm. Outside of work and service, he enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, and spending time with his grandchildren.
